Last Wednesday, we had our friends Ashley and Anthony over for dinner (they’re the friends we went to Amsterdam with last year). It was the first time we’d all gotten to hang out since Marc returned from Kazakhstan, so I made some roasted chicken and potatoes and carrot salad. Since Ashley and I are both pregnant, I thought it would be fun to have some mocktails to go with our dinner – and I decided that virgin sangria would be the perfect fit since it was finally nice outside.
I found a recipe on Our Best Bites, but I adapted it to make a little more. Even though we didn’t end up drinking it all, I wanted the recipe to serve a crowd. So I changed the proportions and added whatever fruits I already had on hand. The recipe turned out great, and tasted really similar to regular sangria. Plus, the fruit gets extra sweet when it soaks up the juices.
So next time you need a non-alcoholic beverage option, this is what you should make. It’s perfect for the upcoming summer, and it’s so simple. Just serve over some ice to keep the juices cold, and enjoy.

- 4 cups grape juice
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon lime juice
- 1 12-ounce can of frozen apple juice concentrate, thawed
- 1 orange, sliced
- 1 lime, sliced
- 1 apple, cored and chopped
- 1 cup sliced strawberries
- 3 - 4 cups club soda
- In a large pitcher, stir the grape, lemon and lime juices with the apple juice concentrate.
- Add the fruit pieces and allow them to soak in the juice until to serve.
- Stir in the club soda just before serving.
